NS Stations
We want stations and station areas to be safe and meaningful places in society. High-quality stations, their surroundings and facilities are an important part of the Netherlands' public transport system. With these, we entice travelers to take the train. NS contributed, together with ProRail, to the development and realization of renovations and new construction of various stations and worked with partners on area development. Together, we ensure that the level of (basic) facilities and services at stations in the Netherlands continues to rise. NS Stations works for all passenger transport operators in the Netherlands. NS takes care of daily operations at all stations in the Netherlands: keeping stations clean, whole and safe. We do this partly on behalf of ProRail. We also focus on providing services (such as bicycle and car parking, toilets, waiting facilities) and operations (renting out retail spaces and our own retail). In doing so, we focus on the facilities that make train travel and staying at the station more pleasant, appropriate to the size of the station and the number of travelers. Travelers have changing demands for their journey to and from the station. As a result, the station is increasingly becoming the hub of transportation, partly due to the rise of shared mobility and the arrival of other providers and services. NS works closely with partners because providing the easiest door-to-door journey possible requires good coordination between all parties involved.
